How’s your summer going?
Are you giving yourself enough grace? If I’m being honest, I’m in a too-much-grace phase.
I’m spending lots of time soaking up the nice days in a lounge chair on my deck. ‘Tis the season, right?
And, I’m not feeling too bad about it because, as the stores are already reminding us with back to school supplies, fall will be here before we know it.
Though, as frightening as that sounds, it’s also a good reminder that I’d better stop procrastinating because I still have boxes to tick on my summer to-do list!
Speaking of procrastination, our Insightful Video this week is a TED talk on the subject from a 9th grader. Grab your kids and watch it together then engage in a conversation about habits they can create now to prevent becoming a life-long procrastinator!
Last week we covered independence and it got me thinking…
Sure, this 18ish-year journey is all about setting our kids on a path to go it alone. But how do we ensure that they stay safe as we gradually release them into the wild?
Here’s how… we access the plethora of resources available to us and educate ourselves. And the good news?
We’ve started the work for you!
This week we’re tapping into Family Safety and we’re running the gamut.
Our Smart Reads cover internet safety, home safety, helping kids feel safe in stressful times, how to keep children safe as they grow up, safety preparedness drills and safety tips for teens going out alone – to name a few.
We have a podcast episode in our Grace in the Race Podcast Playlist about family fire safety. Does your family have an escape plan? Do you practice it?
And, our funny video at the end of the newsletter will keep safety on your mind all week long!
However, the main event this week is Amanda’s MotherShip app sneak peek video which covers our July Annual Project: The Family Safety Checklist. It is made up of… you guessed it… all things family safety!
