Hello PFM friends,
We’re Rachel (from tribe 3) and Amanda (from tribe 2) and we recently started a business together called Grace in the Race. It’s an online community and weekly newsletter for chaos coordinators (aka busy moms).
For those who weren’t on the Tribe call last night, we seized the opportunity during CPR to request feedback on a time-sensitive product we’re planning to roll out to our subscribers THIS Saturday in our weekly newsletter. If you’re willing/able, please take a look at the product and get back to us with your feedback at your very soonest convenience! Please post feedback on the PFM Facebook page or email us directly at hello@graceintherace.com.
Here’s the backstory . . .
From the start, we knew we wanted to create a digital solution (an app) for chaos coordinators and it was in the works but nowhere near ready to launch. However, now that the proverbial wheels have fallen off of the planet, we’ve kicked development into hyperspeed to provide a modified version to help our chaos coordinators navigate their new normal. Specifically, with schools closed our kids are home and need some semblance of structure; this version focuses solely on time management for at-home-learning.
What can I expect from this tool?
The GracePace At-Home-Learning Digital Solution is an online platform to help your child navigate his or her new at-home-learning routine. It is designed to help you (moms) organize, customize and automate an at-home-learning plan for your child that incorporates the resources he or she already uses. These resources might include online links emailed from your child’s school or from Google Classroom or from other online sources such as Khan Academy, BrainPop or IXL (to name a few). Additionally, the app provides you the flexibility to add in chores, breaks, etc. to your daily schedule. This functionality will become clear once you get into it.
Furthermore, we’ve taken the liberty of offering several resource suggestions within the various subjects inside the “app”. Again, this will be more clear when you see it. So, whether you encourage a full day of learning or just want your child to read and practice math, for example, this solution streamlines the process.
How does it work?
The GracePace digital solution utilizes a project management application called Tick Tick (not to be confused with TikTok) that can be accessed via a computer browser or as an app on a smartphone or other device. The GracePace digital solution is a (.CSV) file that easily imports to Tick Tick.
Once imported, the file can be customized to accommodate your child’s workload and schedule. Older children can manage the digital solution on their own and will benefit from effective time management skills while younger children will thrive on the consistency of a daily routine customized just for them . . . And mom will no longer have to spend her days reinventing the wheel or feel compelled to TEACH. The tool prompts the student to learn at the pace you designate utilizing the resources you select. This doesn’t mean your kids won’t have questions or need occasional guidance, but it should significantly reduce your chaos!
How do I access the digital solution?
- Download the ‘GracePace Home Learning Directions’ file below to get started.
- In accordance with said directions, download the CSV file(s) of your choice from the list below when prompted.
- Explore the solution and let us know what you think! Consider ease of use and whether your child could/would utilize it; we’d also be curious how much you think it’s worth? It will be free to our subscribers but the ultimate goal with the longer-term “app” is a paid product.
The files will be emailed to you as we can’t upload .CSV files here
Thank you for taking the time to review this solution. We appreciate your feedback! Lastly, we’d be honored to have you as a subscriber! Complete the form and click the red button below if that interests you.
Love & Grace,
Rachel & Amanda
