THIS JUST IN: Effective immediately, I’m afraid there will be no warding off of vampires because the garlic powder is all sold out and it’s frankly the only ingredient in this recipe…
Mihaela: Meijer on Adams had everything this morning.
Meg: Not anymore. Finding bare shelves now.

Mihaela: Wow! People are crazy! You need two weeks of supplies. It’s not Armageddon!
Amanda: was planning to go get a few things soon…should I bother?
Meg: it depends on what. Dried beans are gone. Frozen juices gone. Toilet paper, well, you know that story. There were plenty of other things, so it’s worth a trip I’d say.
Amanda: lol. Dried beans? That’s fine. We don’t drink juice, so I’m ok with that. Actually bought toilet paper at Costco because we were running out. I’m going to take my chances and go for normal things.
Meg: Perfect
Amanda: Scary times

Mihaela: wth?!! Garlic Powder? Bracing for those vampires, eh?!
Stephanie: Help me understand this…I couldn’t find bread crumbs at two stores. What am I missing? Why these products?
Mihaela: I have a theory: everyone is making breaded chicken with garlic bread!
This was a real text conversation Amanda had with moms in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Grace in the Race feels an obligation to respond. What could two moms with a weekly newsletter geared toward nothing medical possibly have to contribute that you’re not getting from the WHO and the CDC? . . . The mom perspective.
As 40-something females with healthy kids and spouses, we fall into the very-low-risk category yet we are fully aware that we have a responsibility to take action toward prevention. Furthermore, our intent is not to make light of the situation but to turn attention away from panic and fear to a more positive and productive direction.
We believe we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled chaos before we know it. Furthermore, we will not be canceling any of our live events or public appearances (because we don’t have any yet). We are still here, working for you and are so grateful for that opportunity! We wish you all good health and grace in the race!
Below we’ve compiled a list of resources that we’ve deemed useful as well as a Staycation Survival Kit in the event that you’ve decided to cancel Spring Break travel plans . . . or in the event that we are headed toward a mandated quarantine. This is not a scare tactic mamas, it is a cold, hard fact straight from the mom rumor mill!
